Shirley M. LaBelle
Shirley Marie (Honee) LaBelle, loving wife, mom and grandma, passed quietly at her home on April 8, 2024, in Warner, SD. Shirley was surrounded by her family.
Shirley was born on December 11, 1959, to Lavern and Helen Bobby in Ipswich, SD. She grew up in a large and loving family with five big brothers and lived in various towns during her childhood. Her family eventually settled in Roscoe, SD, where she attended and graduated from Roscoe High School in 1979. Shirley moved to Aberdeen began her career at 3M Company. She also raised her wonderful daughter Miranda Marie with her former husband Jim.
Shirley’s many hobbies included Cricut design making, dot painting, crocheting, diamond art, pour painting, c amping, ice fishing, pheasant hunting with her family, road tripping to casinos, and vacationing in Cancun. Most important for Shirley was watching her grandchildren grow up.
Shirley eventually settled in Warner, SD, with her current husband Wayne making it final home sweet home. In December 2016, she retired from 3M Company after 34 years.
Although Shirley was diagnosed with cancer in April 2023, she continued her dedication to her family and in her will to fight her illness. She remained a brave, iron-willed woman, who’s bright smile never left her face, even throughout the final months and days of her life.
Shirley is survived by her loving husband Wayne of Warner, SD and amazing daughter Miranda Marie Nissen of Aberdeen as well as her five bothers Roger (Tillie) Bobby of Port Sanilac, MI, Duane (Linda) Bobby of Aberdeen, SD, Albert (Lynn) Bobby of Hoffman Estates, Il, Bill (Margaret) Bobby of Bowdle, SD, and Dale (Verna) Bobby of Janesville, MN; two step daughters Amanda (Travis Anderson) LaBelle of Fairbanks, AK and Joanna LaBelle of Fairbanks, AK; three grandchildren Logan Martin, Denver Martin and Tevyn Martin of Aberdeen; one step grandchild Len Anderson of Fairbanks, AK; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents Lavern and Helen Bobby, her infant son Douglas Nissen, and former husband Jim Nissen.
