Phyllis Voeller
Phyllis M. Voeller, 87, of Aberdeen, SD, died Friday, January 19, at Sanford Medical Center in Aberdeen.
Phyllis Craft was born on February 1, 1936, to Ira and Blanch (Johnson) Craft in Aberdeen, SD. She grew up and attended school in Aberdeen, graduating from Aberdeen Central High School in 1956. While she was in high school, she worked for The Virginia Café.
On May 26, 1956, Phyllis married Richard “Dick” Voeller in Aberdeen. The couple made their home in Aberdeen and raised seven children. Phillis worked for the state of South Dakota for 20 years driving Foster Grandparents to and from worksites. After retirement she volunteered with the Foster Grandparent Program for 20 years at Simmons Elementary.
Phyllis loved playing Bingo! She also enjoyed crocheting and working on puzzles. She cherished time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
Grateful for having shared life are her children: Earl (Suzanne), Rapid City, SD, Wayne (Peggy), Illinois, Tammy (Bob) Webster, Davenport, IA, Scott Voeller, Aberdeen, SD, Lana Feekes, Pipestone, MN, and Lisa (Darcy) Hedlund, Pipestone, MN; thirteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Raymond Craft, Roscoe Craft, Rodney Craft, Pam Ekern, and Edith Brick; daughter-in-law, Carol Voeller; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding Phyllis in death are her husband, Richard Voeller; daughter-in-law, Nancy Voeller; son-in-law, Doug Feekes; brothers, Rudolph Craft and Richard Craft; sisters: Virgebell, Twyla, Velza, Vonetta; four great-grandchildren; and son, Merle Voller.
