Lloyd Brick, 98 of Sioux Falls SD passed away Thursday, December 21, 2023. Lloyd was a lifetime resident of Aberdeen SD until 2012 when he and his wife Jean moved to Sioux Falls to be close to their family.

Lloyd was born September 12, 1925 in Aberdeen SD to parents Ernest Brick and Olga Angerhofer. He grew up in a family with 5 children and learned the value of hard work and caring and sharing with one another.  He graduated from Warner High School in 1942.

Following High School, he went into the United States Army and served for 2 years.  World War II was ending around that time.

Lloyd worked for Socony Oil Company which later turned into Mobil Oil Corporation. It was there he met one of his closest friends, Milo Herman.

From there he went to work for his brother Norm at Brick Skelgas, which is now Brick Propane.  He delivered fuel and serviced and repaired appliances. (Maybe that is why he was still replacing his own refrigerator mother board at the age of 96!) During this period, his uncles Henry and Ed Angerhofer were getting older and needed help farming.  Lloyd helped them on a part-time basis.  Farming was in his blood and it transitioned into farming full time until he was in his 70’s.

Lloyd married his beautiful bride Jean Inman October 1, 1950.  They shared 70 years together!  Their love for each other has been an inspiration to their family and those around them.  They were blessed with 2 daughters, Susan and Diane.

They built their first home together at 1414 3rd Avenue in Aberdeen in 1952.  They had many happy memories there for 21 years.  In 1973, they built another home at 17 Linda Lane in Aberdeen where they lived until they moved to Sioux Falls in 2012.

Lloyd enjoyed hunting pheasants and deer with his friends and family, fishing, camping, restoring old tractors, tractor pulls, playing cards and family gatherings. Lloyd is well known as the guy who can fix ANYTHING!  Lloyd liked a good joke, silly stories and talking farm talk.

Grateful for having shared his life are his daughters, Susan (Robert) Anderson, Diane (David) Rust; four grandchildren Renae (Hon) Au, John (Meghan) Anderson,  Daniel (Sarah) Rust, Matthew (Dayana) Rust; 10 great grandchildren, Kierra, Kaiden, Karter, Samuel, Jay, Caleb, Margaret, Elijah, Xavier and Henry; His sister, Ely (Bob) Rud; Sister in laws, Joanne (Donald) Jones, Marge (Ted) Inman, Dolores (Hale) Inman, Edith (Laverne) Brick.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Jean, and 3 brothers.
