Irene Alice (Landis) Walz of Aberdeen, SD; age 93, surrounded by her Family, went to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Saturday, June 8th, 2024.

Irene was born on a Farm east of Trail City, SD, not far from Red Top Hill where she went to School. Irene was Baptized in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit October 12, 1930. Irene was confirmed July 1. 1945, her confirmation verse was: For whatsoever is born of God over cometh the world, and this is the victory that over cometh the world, even our faith. 2 John 5:4. The Farm life on the prairie taught Irene work ethics, teamwork, the importance of family and hard work.

Irene married Alvin S Sieler May 7, 1950, to whom the lord blessed them with Five Children. Irene was a homemaker for several years and fulfilled her dream helping others by becoming and working as a nurse's aide at the Mobridge Care Center.

December 26, 1977, Irene married Walford (Wally) Walz and moved to Renton, Washington. She was employed by Sundstrand Data Control Inc.. While employed at Sundstrand Irene received recognition for her contributions toward improving quality and production. Irene was very proud to be part of the team providing parts for Boeing Airplanes and spacecraft. Irene and Wally retired from Sundstrand and moved to Mobridge, SD to assist in the care of her Mother. Later after Wally’s death she moved to Aberdeen to be closer to her Daughters.

Irene enjoyed playing cards. She was a whiz at beating all her children and grand children at Gin Rummy. Irene enjoyed fishing, especially gardening, taking care of her fruit trees, canning, crocheting, embroidering, quilting, and reading. Snoopy was her favorite mascot. Irene was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church.

Irene is survived by her children, Carol (Bill) Vandenberg, Paola, Kansas, Duane (Ok Cha) Sieler, Yankton, SD, Sheila Roettele, Columbia, SD, Becky (Kevin) Dallmann, Edgely, ND, Ricky Sieler, Stepdaughter Starr Walz, Lynwood, Washington, and a number of Wally’s surviving Family, 12 Grand Children and 22 Great Grand Children.

Irene is survived by one Sister, Phyllis Prasek, Selby, SD and one Brother-in law Albert Harp of Rapid City SD.

Irene was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, 4 sisters, one Son-in law and one Granddaughter.
