Gladys Mae (Lee) Koth, Aberdeen/Rapid City, SD was called home on December 18, 2024. Glady was born and raised in Aberdeen and lived there until October 2013 when she chose to move to Rapid City right after winter storm Atlas to be closer to her son. She graduated from Aberdeen Central High in 1944 and worked at K.O. Lee Company for 10 years as a stenographer where she met and later married Marvin Koth on September 30, 1947. Marv and Glady made their home in Aberdeen.

Marvin and Glady loved to travel and were able to visit six continents.  She was an avid walker, loved to knit, play bridge, read and bake.  She was a near lifetime member and a multiple term deacon of First Presbyterian Church in Aberdeen and was a longtime member of extension club called the “Extensionettes”.  She was a member of several bridge clubs and was a Cub Scout den mother and May Overby elementary room mother. She and Marv loved to fish and caught walleyes of trophy size.  Marv and Glady always had a big garden-Marv gardened and Glady preserved.  She loved being a homemaker and delighted in baking.

Marvin died August 27, 2010. She moved into Legacy Apartments in 2014 and was serving as a co-president of the resident council until her most recent surgeries and move to hospice care.

She is survived by her son Ron (Joyce), grandsons Karl (Rapid City), Sam (Katy), Rock Valley, IA, great grandchildren Peter, Davy, Roc and Rose.

She was preceded in death by her parents John C. and Kathryn (Salmon) Lee.

The family would like to thank all her caregivers and friends who took time to visit her, especially during her last days at The Serenity Place.  Our gratitude especially goes out to Father Bill Zandri and his ministry to her during her last days of life; he prayed for our family, answered her call, led her through the narrow gate and was a Good Shepard. He called her by name, “Be Glad”.

“This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be Glad”
