Darlene C. Heupel

Darlene Clara (Kolb) Heupel, 86, of Aberdeen, SD, passed away on February 20, 2024, in Aberdeen, SD.

Darlene Clara Kolb was born on October 11, 1937, to Emil and Adeline Kolb in Leola, SD. They lived near Tulare, SD, until moving to a farm near Leola, SD in 1943. She grew up and attended school in Leola where she lived until her marriage.

On February 7, 1959, Darlene was united in marriage to Merle Jerald Heupel. They made their home in Aberdeen, SD. To this marriage they were blessed with one daughter, Laurie.

Darlene worked as a waitress in various businesses in Aberdeen. She loved to do crafts and also loved to cook. She loved her dogs. After retiring, Merle and Darlene continued to make Aberdeen their home. Merle passed away on April 22, 2019.

She is survived by her daughter Laurie Beth Heupel (Andrew) Kling, brother Richard (Susan) Kolb, Aunt Violet Fauth; several nieces and nephews, four grand-nephews and one great-grand-nephew; and sister-in-law Aileen Kolb.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, twin brother Duane Kolb, and niece Erin Kolb.
