Beverly G. Wendt, 96, of Aberdeen, SD, passed away Monday, January 22, 2024, at her home.

Beverly “Bev” Williams was born July 26, 1927, to Mybra “Mike” and Gladys (Mackey) Williams in Ipswich, SD. She attended school in Ipswich, graduating from Ipswich High School in 1945. Bev kept busy during high school, babysitting, doing household chores for families, working at a cafe, and a grocery store.

Following graduation, Bev moved to Aberdeen and worked for an insurance company and a freight company.  Bev married Robert “Bob” Wendt on November 12, 1947 in Aberdeen.  To this marriage, three daughters were born: Barbara, JoAnn, and Jodi.

Bob passed away on February 16, 2014.  After Bob's death, Bev reconnected with a family friend and neighbor, Leo Crompton, with whom she shared her life.

Bev loved to bake, sew (she sewed most of her clothes), and always had an immaculate home.  She liked crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, playing cards, and especially going dancing on Saturday nights.

Grateful and honored to share Beverly’s life are her daughters Barbara (Jerald) Braun, JoAnn Koerner, and Jodi (Arnie) Zacher; grandchildren: Robert (Dulce) Braun, Jason (Michelle) Braun, Megan (Cole) Tucker, Mindi Koerner, Levi (Renee) Koerner, Jesse (Sandy) Koerner, Cody (Victoria) Koerner, Caleb (Jenni) Koerner, Andre (Jay) Waldow, Tonish Koerner, Austin (Taylor) Koerner, Carli Al-Azzeh, Austin Zacher; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Preceding Bev in death are her husband of 66 years, Robert; her parents; her sister Verna Lea (Gordon) Petersen; brother Maris Williams; and her companion Leo Crompton.
